The Price of Valor by Susan May Warren

Series: Global Search & Rescue #3
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Revell
Released: October 6, 2020
363 pages
About the Book:

Former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones thought that the love of his life was dead. But when a girl claiming to be his daughter shows up with a dire message from his wife, Ham knows he will stop at nothing to find her and bring her home.

Kidnapped by rebels while serving as an interpreter in Ukraine, Signe Kincaid has spent the past decade secreting out valuable information about Russian assets in the US to her CIA handler. Fearing for her daughter after being discovered as an operative, Signe sends her to Ham for safekeeping. She's ready to give her life for her country, and she can hardly expect Ham to rescue her after breaking his heart over and over.

When Ham discovers the reason Signe has kept her distance, he must choose between love for his wife and love for the nation he has vowed to protect. Will he save the many? Or the few?

My Rating & Thoughts:    ⭐⭐

So much happens in this book. Not only are the characters trying to survive a volcano eruption that is followed by a tsunami, but they are also trying to figure out who is selling state secrets and if there are corrupt CIA agents involved. There is a reunion of a husband and wife, but can they trust one another after so many years apart. There is also a side storyline between a couple that so much heartache could have been avoided if they had just talked to one another rather than finding reasons not to or avoiding one another. That was frustrating. A lot of characters from the author's other books make appearances, which can be nice if you know these characters bit frustrating if you don't. A positive of the story is that there are quite a few discussions about God and faith between various characters. I did enjoy getting to know Hamilton and see him embrace the family situation is thrown into, I didn't care about his storyline in the previous book so I was hesitant about this on.

(I purchased my copy of this book; opinions expressed
in this review are my honest opinion and completely my own.)
