Sundown by Susan May Warren (Review)

Series: Sky King Ranch #3
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publisher: Revell
Released: November 1, 2022
336 pages
About the Book:

Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston knows when someone is lying. He may not know the truth, but he sure doesn't trust Tae, the woman who is caring for his ailing father at Sky King Ranch. Behind those beautiful blue eyes, he can tell there is a troubled--and smart--woman.

A few of her stories prove true--he's found the crashed plane and the dead body inside. Still, her story of survival seems too incredible to believe . . . until the thugs she claims to be hunting her show up and threaten Sky King Ranch. Now Tae must disappear, along with her secrets.

My Rating & Thoughts:    ⭐⭐

This is the conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series, and these books must be read in order as the storyline continues through each book. In this one, we are primarily following the third Kingston brother, Colt, and Tae, the girl that Dodge and Echo rescued in book one. The p.o.v. also switches quite a bit to Ranger and Naomi, the couple from book 2. Tae is a medical scientist and trying to create a vaccine for a possible biological weapon the Russians have. There is a ton of scientific and medical language as well as very detailed fight scenes. Apparently, Colt has nine lives and is able to survive these fights even with his medical condition. I liked seeing the brothers reconcile and work together to stop the attack, but I didn't care for the scientific/medical or the Russian aspect of the story. The ending provided an idea of the direction life is going to take them both professionally and personally.

Favourite Quote:
“Saving the world is not your responsibility. That doesn't belong to any of us. Our job is to do our part. Show up with the talents God has given us, and say yes to the mission he's given us. That's it. You're going to feel helpless if you think it's up to you.”
(I purchased my copy of this book; opinions expressed
in this review are my honest opinion and completely my own.)
