Upcoming Releases I'm Looking Forward to: July - December 2018

Upcoming Releases July-Dec

Today I am sharing with you 10 books that are releasing over the next six months that I am really looking forward to. This past December I shared a list of the 10 books that were releasing in the first 6 months of this year and as of today I have read 9 of those 10 and am currently reading the 10th book.

Releasing July 3
Dead DriftBurning debris littering the ground . . . smoke pluming in the acrid air . . . this is just the beginning if he fails.

Now he's back, and together they must unravel a twisting thread of secrets, lies, and betrayal, all while on the brink of a biological disaster.
Will they and their love survive, or will Luke and Kate become the terrorist's next mark?

Book 4 in Dani Pettrey's Chesapeake Valor series. I read the first 3 books in this series last year and can't wait to find out what happened to Luke 7 years ago. It appears this will be the book that gives us some answers.

Releasing July 12
The Truth Between UsNine years to win her. Three years to love her. And one decision that destroyed it all.

April Duncan was raised with three clear truths: the family name is absolute, ambition and success rule over every emotion, and love always comes with strings attached. Image was everything in her carefully crafted world... until the mirror cracked.

Sean Taylor was April's best friend, the one man who taught her it was okay to let her guard down and to rely on someone. She trusted him. She loved him. Which made his deception the darkest kind of cruelty.

Now, nearly a year later, she’s ready to leave her failed engagement in the past and get back her life and her estranged family, even if it means dating a man solely for his connections. She’ll never again choose love over loyalty.

Sean has spent his entire life breaking barriers, facing challenges, and never giving up. Until one impossible choice destroyed his future and left him no option but to flee from the woman who annihilated his heart.

Now he’s back in Bentwood and determined to make her hear the truth and rebuild the trust he shattered. But April has become a mere shell of the woman who claimed his heart long ago.

Winning her back is more than just seizing a victory, because if he fails… the girl he’s loved for a lifetime will disappear forever.

I have only read a couple books by Ms. Gray previously but I enjoyed the emotional journey both of them took me on. I was drawn in by the cover on this one and the description makes me want to get to know these characters.

Releasing July 31
Called to Protect

For the past year, Chloe St. John has been working as a K-9 cop with her German shepherd partner, Hank. After being dumped by her fiancé for another woman, Chloe has decided that Hank is just about the only male she likes. She's over the whole romance thing and focuses her attention on doing her job. Because a serious case of human trafficking with connections to her missing cousin just landed in her lap.

When US Marshall Blake MacCallum's daughter goes missing, he's ordered to kill the judge he's protecting and tell no one about his daughter's disappearance or she will die. Blake races against the clock to rescue his daughter while Chloe and Hank are asked to be a part of the task force assembled to bring down the traffickers. Chloe finds herself attracted to the silent, suffering man, but thanks to her previous bad judgment, she wonders if she can trust him. And can Blake trust himself around this firecracker of a woman?
Lynette Eason is one of my go to authors and I always look forward to any new release from her.

Freedom's Kiss

But her life derails when a hidden piece of her past suddenly comes to light, and she discovers everything she thought she knew about herself has been a lie.

A single decision can have innumerable consequences—a truth that has changed Adam Carrington’s life. A criminal defense attorney turned food truck owner, he is haunted by his role in an unpardonable act and driven by his need to make restitution. Unexpected help comes in the form of a feisty, raven-haired beauty, but she soon begins challenging his kitchen as well as his heart.

Florida, 1816
Propelled by a fleeting hope of freedom, Winnie and her family escape slavery and find refuge and new life with the Seminole Indians of Florida. But their future is still uncertain as threats of war, a return to slavery, and removal to the west shake their tentative grasp on freedom. Will they ever step out of the shadow of fear to leave a legacy of deliverance?

I fell in love with the Carrington family after reading book 1 of this series. This is book 3 and features Carrington brother, Adam. We have met him a little bit in the previous two books and I look forward to getting to know him more.

Releasing September 18
Delayed JusticeShe had long given up the desire to be loved. Now she only needed to be heard.

Jaime Nichols went to law school to find the voice she never had as a child, and her determination to protect girls and women in the path of harm drives her in ways both spoken and unspoken. As Jamie, now a criminal defense attorney, prepares to press charges against someone who wronged her long ago, she must face not only her demons but also the unimaginable forces that protect the powerful man who tore her childhood apart.

Chandler Bolton, a retired veteran, is tasked with helping a young victim who must testify in court—and along with his therapy dog, Aslan, he’s up for the task. When he first meets Jaime, all brains, beauty, and brashness, he can’t help but be intrigued. As Chandler works to break through the wall Jaime has built around herself, the two of them discover that they may have more to offer one another than they ever could have guessed—and that together, they may be able to help this endangered child.

This thrilling installment of the Hidden Justice series explores the healing power of resolution and the weight of words given voice. And as Jaime pursues delayed justice of her own, she unearths eternal truths that will change the course of her life.

This is the third book in Ms. Putman's Hidden Justice series. I have been enjoying the legal aspects of this series and am looking forward to getting to know Jamie.

Before he can answer that question, however, the FBI weighs in and Kristin suddenly finds herself in the middle of international intrigue--and in the sights of the ruthless mastermind behind an ingenious and deadly, scheme. Can this cold-blooded killer be stopped before more people die . . . including Kristin?

Irene Hannon is another one of my go to authors for suspense. This is book 2 of her new series, Code of Honor. This description has intrigued me.

Burden of ProofReeling from a negotiation gone wrong, FBI Special Agent April Ramos is caught off guard when a frazzled young woman shoves a crying baby into her arms, then disappears. Worry for the child’s safety quickly turns to fear when a man claiming to be the girl’s father abducts them at gunpoint. April puts her hostage negotiation skills to use to learn more about who she’s dealing with: Jason Snyder, a fugitive accused of murder.

As Jason spins a tall tale about being framed for the killing of his business partner, April must sort through his claims to find the truth. A truth that becomes all the more evident after April overhears a conversation between Jason and the local sheriff and realizes something more sinister may be happening in their small town of Sweet Briar, Texas. But aligning herself with a known fugitive to uncover the burden of proof could cost April her job . . . or worse, her life and the lives of other innocent people.
DiAnn Mills is a new to me author, but the cover and description pulled me in. I really enjoy suspense reads and after seeing this book I knew I had to add it to my list.
Releasing October 30
Things Left UnsaidLyndie St. James is thrilled that her best friend, Elle, is getting married but unprepared for the emotional storm of the wedding week and returning to her childhood summer home of Sweethaven. The idyllic cottage community harbors some of her best—and worst—memories. It’s not only the tragic death of her childhood friend Cassie that has haunted her for ten years, it’s the other secrets she’s buried that have kept her from moving on.

But Lyndie isn’t the only one with secrets.

Cassie’s mother, father and brother, still struggling with the loss, have been drifting further and further apart. And Elle herself, the last to see Cassie alive, carries an impossible burden of guilt. Now reunited, each of them has a choice: to reveal the truths of that night or continue to live in its shadow. That means embarking on a personal journey of the heart—to escape the darkness and all its regrets and to finally come to terms with the past and, especially, with each other.
Courtney Walsh is another author whose writing I have fallen in love with. I really enjoy the friendships between characters she is able to create.
Releasing November 6
In Too DeepWhen the dive team is called in to recover a body from a submerged car, they aren't prepared to find an encrypted laptop--or an unsettling connection between investigator Adam Campbell and the dead accountant.

When evidence uncovers a human trafficking ring and implicates members of Adam's own family, he and Sabrina will have to risk everything to solve the case.

The truth could set hundreds free--but someone is willing to do whatever it takes to silence anyone who threatens to reveal their secrets. Award-winning author Lynn H. Blackburn invites readers back to Carrington, North Carolina, where everything is not as it seems and sinister elements lurk behind the idyllic façade.

This is book 2 in Ms. Blackburn's, Dive Team Investigations series. I absolutely loved book 1, Beneath the Surface, so I added book 2 to my list as soon as I found out about it.

Dead Drift Quote 1

My Rating & Thoughts:    🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟    (5 stars)
Releases July 3rd!

We meet both Kate and Luke in the previous books in this series, and I have been waiting to finally get into their story and have my questions answered. Why has Luke been gone for so many years? Now that he is back, will things pick up with Kate, or has there been too much hurt there? I have also been waiting for the conclusion to Jenna’s story. This fourth book in the Chesapeake Valor series answers all of the questions I have been asking throughout this series and does not disappoint! This book is fast paced and once I picked this book up, I could not put it down, reading it all at once in one day. This was a satisfying conclusion to a favorite series for me. This is a series that is best read in order.

(I received a complimentary eARC of this book from Bethany House through NetGalley.
Opinions expressed in this review are my honest opinion and completely my own.)
