Coming Home to Steeple Ridge by Liz Isaacson

Series: Steeple Ridge # 4
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: AEJ Creative Works
Released: Jan. 9, 2018
215 pages
About the Book:
Darren Buttars is cool, collected, and quiet--and utterly devastated when his girlfriend of nine months, Farrah Irvine, breaks up with him because he wanted her to ride her horse in a parade.

But Farrah doesn't ride anymore, a fact she made very clear to Darren. When they run into each other again in small-town Island Park, the spark between them is as hot as ever. But they can't seem to agree on anything and end up arguing as much as they kiss.

Farrah returned to her childhood home with so much baggage, she doesn't know where to start with the unpacking. Darren's the only Buttars brother who isn't married, and he wants to make Island Park his permanent home--with Farrah.

Can they find their way through the heartache to achieve a happily-ever-after together?

Coming Home to Steeple Ridge Quote 2

Darren & Farrah began dating in the previous book and it seemed like it was going well, but then this book starts with them broken up. What happened? Darren doesn’t even know. Can he figure it out and give Farrah what she seems to need? Will Farrah learn to let God lead her towards her future rather than focusing on her past, can she learn accept who she is?

I hurt for Darren, he feels like he has been left behind while his brothers move forward and begin families of their own. He has fallen in love with Farrah, but she seems switch between hot and cold with him. Will he be able to find happiness? I especially enjoyed the bond that Darren had formed with Jim & Corey and the peace he found out at their farm.

There were a lot of times I was frustrated with Farrah. I understood that she was dealing with a lot of emotional baggage, but if she could just share her secrets with Darren and let herself accept what he was trying to offer her so much heartache could have been handled together. I did like the way their story came together in the end.
