Genre: Contemporary Romance
Released: Nov. 9, 2017
390 pages
About the Book:
He certainly didn't ask Santa for a bride. . . Dragged into a crazy publicity stunt, one handsome cowboy has no idea how he ended up accidentally married.

Professional bull rider Chase Jarrett has the world by a string. The only blight in his idyllic existence is his nosy cousin’s nonstop nagging about his need for more publicity. Tired of listening to her suggestions, he gives her free rein when she hatches a plan to skyrocket his popularity. All he has to do is show up for a phony wedding in Las Vegas. Then Chase discovers the wedding was real, the surprise bride is beautiful, and his sponsors are demanding he remain married.

Shy and introverted, the last thing Jessie Pierce wants is to find herself in the spotlight. But thanks to a meddling so-called best friend, that’s exactly where she’s at. The promise of an all-expenses paid vacation to Las Vegas lures her on an adventure that ends with her unexpectedly married to a hunky bull rider who would draw her out of her shell if she’d let him.

A business proposal leaves the two of them committed to a year of marriage. How hard could it be to remain wed in name only?

My Rating & Thoughts:    ðŸŒŸ ðŸŒŸ ðŸŒŸ 🌟   (4 stars)

“The thought of being married to a man like him, one who exuded rugged masculinity, made her mouth dry and her thoughts scramble.”

Chase and Jessie meet for the first time at their fake wedding, but then it turns out the wedding wasn’t fake and they are really married. What puts them in this situation in the first place and how do they deal with it? Chase’s cousin, Ashley, and Jessie’s best friend, Stacey, can see that these two are perfect for each other from the beginning and do everything they can to force them to spent time together and get to know one another.

I really enjoyed these characters and their story. You can feel the sparks between them right from their first meeting. As they spend more and more time together feelings begin to form but both refuse to be the one to admit it as they are worried the other doesn’t feel the same way. There were some really sweet and heat filled moments between them. I just wanted them to acknowledge what those around them could see. Their feelings of love for the other was mutual, they just have to admit it to one another. Their family and friends do what they can to help them realize this.

Jessie is so sweet and such a calm person that she takes everything in stride, she is an introvert who likes to stay behind the scenes and out of the public eye. But with her marriage to Chase she is forced into the spotlight. Even after he fully embarrasses her in public she still does what is expected of her and does not throw a fit. Chase has to practically corner her and force her to express her feelings. This moment was one of my favourites of the story, it was the moment everything was finally admitted.

I loved all the characters. Chase’s grandmother was entertaining, the scenes at her house were absolutely hilarious. I enjoy that Ms. Hatfield carries characters throughout a series, it was wonderful to spend more time with the couples from the earlier books. This series will immerse you in the rodeo world and have you swooning for cowboys. Can I transform my husband into a cowboy with some boots and a hat?

“How was she supposed to be able to keep her thoughts straight when the handsome cowboy she married grew more appealing and irresistible by the minute.”
