I fell in love with the Hope Harbor series with the first book, and I always love re-visiting Hope Harbor with each new addition to this series. Pelican Point lived up to my expectations in so many ways. I always smile when we meet back up with Charlie, a favorite character from each book of this series. The community of Hope Harbor is brought to life with realistic characters. This series could be read out of order, however I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series as we do meet characters featured in previous books.

When I read the Hope Harbor series books, I am transported to a charming community along the Oregon Coast with stunning ocean views and the smell of the ocean in the air, where people stop on the street to say hello and know each other by name. Where you can stop down at the Harbor and pick up a fish taco and have a meaningful conversation with Charlie. This community is brought to life with realistic characters, a little bit of conflict to give just enough suspense at times.

Ben and Marci’s story made me laugh and smile. Their first few meetings did not go well and that set up some interesting first impressions of each other. I enjoyed seeing them work through the baggage from each of their pasts that was getting in their way.

The storyline that really captivated me was Greg and Rachel. I loved the reconciliation and amount of recovery that Greg makes in his personal life and the reconciliation in their marriage. Their story was filled with so much realistic emotion as we watch them navigate the difficulties of life and the effects of on their marriage. I liked how faith was an important part of their reconciliation.
