First Line Friday - Week 13

Happy Friday!!!

Hello August! It's been a long busy week here, I am so looking forward to the three day weekend! It will be a break out the books weekend :) Today's book is book 4 of Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians series, which just released a couple days ago. Ms. Eason has been one of my favourite authors for quite a while, there are only a few books of her's that I haven't read yet. I usually devour the new ones as soon as it is released and this book was no exception. I loved it and my review went live this morning, you can read it here.

Today's book is: Chasing Secrets by Lynette Eason

County Mayo, Ireland, 1991
"Five-year-old Aileen Burke crouch in the small hidden room in the big castle she called home. Terror caused her little heart to beat in her chest like the wings of hummingbird."

  1. London. May 1914. Rosemary Gresham may have been a thief but she was a thief who preferred to work in broad daylight. From A Name Unknown by Roseanna White! Loving this book. Can’t get enough Roseanna!

  2. Fun!

    Here is mine:

“I never meant for any of it to happen.”
The Last Summer by Brandy Bruce

  3. November 12, 2011

This is for them. This is for the magic. This is for every little dreamer in the room. A Season to Dance - Patricia Beal

    1. I just got this book, can't wait to read it.

  4. I've read some good reviews for this book. Maybe I should be adding it to my #TBR. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  5. I have a couple of the books that are in this series...need to read. :) So much to read and so little time...happy Friday!

  6. Lynette Eason is on my TBR pile someday...

Now that I have a bookshelf within reach of my desk, I'm grabbing one I hope to read this year.
"Romulus White stood motionless in the crowded ballroom, staring at a woman he'd once longed for more than his next breath of air."
    - From this Moment, by Elizabeth Camden

  7. I’m currently reading My Unexpected Hope by Tammy L Gray, which has a great first line:

Moonlight leaked through the dirt-splotched windows of Joe’s Bar, it’s silvery rays glinting off the tumbler in front of Laila Richardson’s saddest customer.

I'm sharing the first line from The Space Between Words on my website. I hope you stop by and check it out.

    1. I recently read that book and really enjoyed it.
