Perilous Riptide

About the Book:
Just when the current seems safer, an unseen danger emerges and threatens to destroy everything.

When Cassidy Livingston finds a journal hidden deep in the recesses of her ice cream truck, her curiosity kicks into high gear. Islanders suspect that Elsa, the journal’s owner, didn’t die accidentally. Her final entry indicates their suspicions might be correct and that what Elsa observed on her final night may have led to her demise.

Against the advice of Ty Chambers, her former Navy SEAL boyfriend, Cassidy taps into her detective skills and hunts for answers. But her search only leads to a skeletal body and trouble for both of them. As helplessness threatens to drown her, Cassidy is desperate to turn back time.

Can Cassidy find what she needs to navigate the perilous situation? Or will the riptide surrounding her threaten everyone and everything Cassidy loves?

My Rating & Thoughts:    🌟 ðŸŒŸ ðŸŒŸ ðŸŒŸ    (4 stars)

This is the fifth book in the Lantern Beach series and contains a combo of the continuing storyline as well as a new case for Cassidy to solve. This time Ty has been framed with murder, but we know there is no way that Ty did it. Cassidy is determined to fight for him and find out who really did it. With the help of her friends she searches for answers. I was guessing the whole way through who did it. Each time when it seemed like Cassidy had figured out who it was something would be revealed that would clear them. I was shocked when it was revealed who was really behind it.

The continuing storyline gives us readers more insight into Cassidy/Cady’s time undercover and the things she faced and discovered. As she waits for the case to go to trail she continues to search for answers trying to figure out who is the top person. One question plagues her ... why was she chosen for this case in the first place? The gang of DH-7 was into some really dangerous things, during the flashbacks there are times I am scared Cady is going to get caught, I then have to remind myself that these events happened in the past.

I anxiously await the next book with dreams of Cassidy getting closure to this DH-7 case so that she can begin to create a new life with Ty on Lantern Beach.

(I received a copy of this book from the Ms. Barritt; opinions expressed
in this review are my honest opinion and completely my own.)
