Review: Another Day Another Dali by Sandra Orchard

Series: Serena Jones Mystery #2
Genre: Mystery/Suspense
Publisher: Revell
Released: Oct. 18, 2016
344 pages

About the Book:

When a valuable Salvador Dali painting belonging to her grandmother's friend is mysteriously replaced by a forgery, FBI Special Agent Serena Jones is called in to investigate. Serena hopes finding the thief will also mean finally measuring up to Nana's expectations. But when the evidence points to members of the owner's own household, it becomes increasingly clear that Serena won't be winning any popularity contests.

The Dali isn't the only painting that's fallen prey to the forgery-replacing thief, raising the specter of a sophisticated theft ring--one with links to dirty cops, an aspiring young artist, and the unsolved murder of Serena's grandfather.

My Rating & Thoughts:

Serena becomes the target of someone and there were a lot of close calls that happen to her, she is mugged, shot at, attached and nearly drowns. At one point friend asks her if it is even safe to be around her, “Am I going to get shot?” There was definitely more action that happens in this one and I felt like she began acting more like an agent than she did in book one. We follow a case of switched out paintings in a personal residence and as they are investigating they discover someone is forging a bunch of paintings. I found it hard to follow at times as there were so many suspects. I was also easily confused with all the popular artists mentions and the talk about painting types, etc., because I am not interested in art and don’t know much about it. I had suspicions of what was going to happen, but wasn’t able to figure it out fully. It was okay, but not a fave.

(I was gifted this book from my mom; opinions expressed
in this review are my honest opinion and completely my own.)
