First Line Friday (Week 75): Delayed Justice

Happy Friday!

Welcome to First Line Friday's hosted by Hoarding Books.

Today's book is: Delayed Justice by Cara Putman

Delayed Justice
First Line:
"The October air held the bite of fall as Jaime pushed out a breath
and entered the domain of the enemy."

This is the third book in Ms. Putman's Hidden Justice series and just released earlier this week. After reading the first two I was anxious to get this one. The wait was worth it. While this dealt with a tough subject matter, the way it was carefully handled without going into too much detail. The characters were engaging and the story included a strong mix of legal drama, suspense, faith lessons, friendship and romance. You can find my review here.

Now it's your turn!
Let me know your first line in the comments and then head over
to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating!

  1. I loved this book too. Very timely! Here's a first line from Lethal Target by Janice Cantore. "The dream was always so vivid for to Tess." Have a great Friday!

  2. I loved this series, too.

My first line comes from Christmas Heirloom (4 Different authors) Lancashire, England (Christmas~1827)

From a purely rational standpoint, Sarah Gooding should have been ecstatic with her present position.

  3. It is always fun to see what books are being shared on Friday! Over on my blog, I'm sharing the first line from Mary Connealy's newest book "The Reluctant Warrior". Here I'll share the first line from chapter 20 of the same book.
"What harebrained decision had caused John to come west working for the Chiltons?"

  4. Ooh, "the domain of the enemy" sounds ominous! :) I'm sharing from The End Begins by Sara Davison today. Here are the first lines from Chapter 1:

Meryn didn't move until a loud thud and a shout from upstairs yanked her from her stunned silence. "We need to get out now."

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

  5. My first line is from Chapter 8 of Murder of Convenience by Linda Henton Matchett:

“Police. Open up. “ Heavy pounding shook Geneva’s door.

This week on my blog I shared Ours for a Season by Kim Vogel Sawyer but I'm currently reading Chosen People by Robert Whitlow so here I'll share the first line from my current chapter (26): "Hana had trouble containing her excitement during her morning Skype session with Daud." Hope you have a great weekend with plenty of reading!
