First Line Friday (Week 73): Hidden Peril

Happy Friday!

Welcome to First Line Friday's hosted by Hoarding Books.

Today's book is: Hidden Peril by Irene Hannon

Hidden Peril
First Line:
"Why was  a light burning in the workshop at midnight?"

I love Irene Hannon and have been looking forward to this one for a while now. It just released on Tuesday and I am not starting it. This weekend is Thanksgiving for us in Canada, which means an extra day off to read, right? Okay really my weekend entails getting to together with family and having turkey, but I can read in between right?  Any special plans this weekend?

Now it's your turn!
Let me know your first line in the comments and then head over
to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating!

  2. Happy Friday!

Today on my blog, I am sharing the first line from Connilyn Cossette's newest novel, Shelter of the Most High. I cannot wait to get into this book. Currently, I am reading A Tale of Two Hearts by Michelle Griep. It is SO good. I am loving it. I am on chapter 23, so I will post the first line from that chapter here:

"He'd meant to talk to his uncle, truly he had, but the next day passed in a blur of festive activities -- and never once had Uncle been without Miss Whymsy at his side."

Hope you have a great weekend filled with lots of good reading!

  4. Happy Friday! I forgot about this week being about favorite genre but I DID share one from one of my favorite authors. I have to say historical fiction is my favorite, but I also like suspense to change things up a bit. I'm currently in-between books but I'll be be starting a new book after dinner tonight. Hope you have a great weekend with lots of quality reading time!

  5. My first line is from Lady of a Thousand Treasures by Sandra Byrd:

    September 1866, Oxfordshire, England
A threading of voices spooled throughout the expansive chamber wherein we waited, voices so decently quiet as to be murmurs.

Looking forward to reading Irene’s book!

  8. Happy Friday! On my blog this week I shared Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst but I'm also currently reading Emerald Illusion by Jennifer Rodewald. I'm on chapter 12 so I'll share the first line from there: "Clouds began to cloak the few stars that were determined to see light into the dreary hill country." Hope you have a great weekend with plenty of reading!
