First Line Friday - Week 23

Happy Friday!!!

Welcome to First Line Friday's hosted by Hoarding Books. This week I am featuring a book I randomly pulled from my ever growing TBR (to be read) pile. Hopefully someday soon this will get closer to the top of my list.

Today's book is: Flee the Night by Susan May Warren

Flee the Night

First line is:
"The past couldn't have picked a worse time to find her."

Now it's your turn!
Let me know your first line in the comments and then head over
to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating!

  1. I've got this one sitting on my Kindle. I haven't read her earlier series yet, but I'm loving her Montana Rescue series!

I’m featuring the SECOND line from Crystal Walton’s ‘Just Maybe’ on my blog this week (Carrie has the first line on Reading is my Superpower). But here, I’m going to share the first line from my current read: a speculative novel called ‘Day Moon’ by Brett Armstrong. Here’s the first line:

“The drizzle tapped on the coffin with an increasing intensity.”

  2. The first line on my blog this week is from Toni Shiloh's latest book 'Returning Home'. I'll share with you here a book that I just started reading last night.

  3. Ooh that's an interesting first line. Love Susan May Warren so I'm definitely going to need to add this to my TBR. :)

I'm featuring Lu. by Beth Troy on my blog today, but here I shall share the book I'm currently reading.

"They rode in silence, the murmur of Alex's expensive late-model white SUV lulling Astrid into drowsiness."

  4. Happy Friday! I want to share the first line from the first chapter instead of from the prologue: (This is a REALLY fun book to read!)

A New Shade of Summer by Nicole Deese:

"I jiggled the locked doorknob again and wished, not for the first time, that it was legal to use tranquilizer darts on adolescent boys."

  5. Intriguing! The book I'm featuring on my blog is Perfectly Matched by Maggie Brendan. However, the book I will share here is Fire and Ice by Mary Connealy. "The bullet spit dirt up in Gage Coulter's eyes, and he didn't even flinch."

  9. This was one of the first Susan May Warren books I ever read. She had me hooked!

I'm reading The Engagement Plot by Krista Phillips. Here's the first line:

Hanna Knight clicked the Power button on the radio as she inched the Dodge Ram pickup down the snow-covered highway. Embarrass, Minnesota, was only a few miles farther.

Okay, so I had to include that second sentence because Embarrass as a place name? That's even weirder than Iola (Iola, Wisconsin, and Iola, Kansas. I'll have to visit one day).
